Andrew Shepherd is a Co-Director of the conservation organisation A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand, and a Research Affiliate with the Centre for Theology and Public Issues, University of Otago. His other writings on peacemaking and environmental themes include The Gift of the Other: Levinas, Derrida, and a Theology of Hospitality (2014) and Creation and Hope: Anticipation and Promise in Aotearoa (2018).
Kristel van Houte is a Co-Director of A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand, and Karioi project manager. Prior to this she was a Marine and Freshwater Ecologist at NIWA (NZ) and in American Samoa and Kenya. Kristel has 15 years of practical biology and community-based conservation experience, and has taught field biology in New Zealand and overseas. A keen surfer and active mum, she is always up for an adventure.
