Peter is Professor of History at Massey University. He presented this paper to the Integrated Schools’ Conference in June 2015. The theme of the conference was The Power of Story. In his paper Peter traces the religious-secular story in New Zealand and reflects on the important role of faith-based schools in telling the story of Christian faith in the midst of an increasingly secular narrative in New Zealand society.
